Various avatars...first time trying to make some

Over the last few days, I've been messing around with Paint Shop Pro, making avatars and such. I just got the program about a month or so ago, so I haven't been able to mess around with it that much. Some of them are various animes, etc., and #12-22 or so are from Namco's Tales series (btw, I forgot where most of the images came from, since I saved them a while back, and forgot where I downloaded them from).

I'm doing them for two design sites that I'm friends with. Feedback is appricated, as well as problems in the images that can be rectified.

So far, I have gotten nice comments on them, which is good.

You sure do have a lot of time on your hands.
I'm afraid I can't say they apply too well to my taste in avatars, but if you brightened them up a little and gave them a little more detail, you'd have some absolutely awesome avatars there.

All in all, I say they're very pretty now, and hold a great deal of potential.

Yeah, they're all pretty...dark. And kind of filmy. Seems like they should be a lot brighter, more colors.

I thought they were pretty nice. Like they said, kinda bleak, kinda dark. But I was wondering: Did you purposly use the templates as jsut another layer, or do you need help on making them transparent?

Yeah, some of them probably can be lightened up (I'll try to tweak them). The templates might seem somewhat transparent, since I used an "Asphalt" tint on the color for them, so it would not be as dull. They were also put on another layer (I had a lot of templates to choose from, so I did that to not accidentally screw up the image).

Someone mentioned adding effects. Do you happn to know which might work good for those avatars? I'd appriciate some guidance on that.

EDIT :: Avatars #23 and 24 added. Most "dark" avatars have been lightened somewhat, so they should be easier to see.
