many people may know this but I'll do it for other people since its something i discovered:

1.open up any picture u want,I will be using this

2. Choose text , type , then adjust to the way u want it,change color to any shade of brown.

3. Now, the "T" from the layer palate will appear, (F7 to open layer palate)click the little "f" in the down left corner then select "outer glow". Set the blending mode "hard light" from the drop down menu . Opacity 75%,noise 0,select the brown shade from the graident (make sure the little green dot is checked beside the graident. Tecnique:precise,spread 44%,size:6,7 or 8 depending on how much rust u want, I chose 7. Range 67%,jitter 5%.

4.Now click stroke,select size 3 or 4, position outside ,blending mode "hard light",opacity 88%,fill type: color,the color is beige/brown.

5.click 'ok' and ur done!! I end up with >><html>

6. if u can't see it try moving it.
