Thanks! And I know what your talking about, I have PSP9 and I believe opacity is depicted with an eyeball just like PSP8. It's come in handy once or twice so far. But what I'm truely looking for is ways to branch out and experiment with new things past what I have, I'm pretty sure I'm good with the basics already.
You're welcome. Hm... Do you know what blending options are?
Well I know what blending is, I know sort of how to do it, but what exactly do you mean?
I'm glad that you've figured out layers so early! It took me a few months to understand how to use them. Now, I know that one of the big things I love to toy with in PSP is opacity. Now, it depends on which version of PSP you're using. I have versions 8 and X2. In PSP 8, the opacity control is to the right of the layers, but in the same tab. Like, when you have the layer names, look to the right, it should be a spectrum and an eye. That's the opacity. The higher the opacity, the stronger you see the layer. In PSP X2, and I'm sure X, the opacity spectrum in above the layers, not to the right. [or just look for the blending options, it's right above that.] There's no eye, unfortunately. You basically just move the little arrow thing along the spectrum.
Hope I helped, and good luck. :D

I recently got my hands on PSP and as much as I've been self teaching myself a bit it's sort of difficult to figure out much. I'm sure I have down my basics for the most part (like layers, (and layer locking) are the love of my life). Here are a few of my newest tries, any and all advice is welcome: as are any sites you think may prove useful. I specialize in playing with large graphics, but I'd like to break into doing icons. I'm also looking into ways to branch out and do some creative experiments.
I enjoy watching Bleach on a whole (I've never read the manga) it's a funny, cute, action show with interesting plots. But what really makes me keep coming back is: Aizen, Kenpachi and Urahara.
