*mesmerised*  Shocked

Your work is incredible!! I especially love the Divinity pink one (or is it divinety?) with the brush blast behind it...or whatever it's called. Sorry, I'm sort of new at PS. I don't know if I can post it under here or the help section but I've seen that style on some other graphics but not sure how it works or how to do it...any hints?  Embarrassed

Thank you so much  :D!
Oh, it's divinely XD...the screenshot is so small!  (http://tm.hoshiru.net/layouts/divinely/index.html <---the actual layout)

It's not that hard to make that actually ^^.  For the one on the layout, I just used tons of abstract, cloud, and sparkles brushes, and you just place them all together (put all the brushes on different layers, you might want to adjust the opacity of some of the brushes, or erase some annoying parts).  All the credits for them are on the layout (the bottom Smiley )

Hope that made sense and your able to do it ;)
2  General / General / Re: Could someone host me? on: May 24, 2008, 04:50:46 PM
There is always http://www.awardspace.com/ and thousands of other sites that will host for free....I think we have thread for all that o.0........
3  General / General / Re: HOW MANY GIMPERS HERE? on: May 21, 2008, 07:12:09 PM
I used to use both....mostly photoshop though...but i did make brushes and put it on my deviantart for gimpers out of pity 8D.
But then my computer crashed and when I got a new one I couldn't find my copy of photoshop D:..now I just use gimp because I'm more interested in buying clothes than a new copy :P XD
4  General / General / Re: What kind of layout is you fave? on: May 21, 2008, 07:06:27 PM
Divs :D..their easiest to code, and I personally think tables are not meant to be turned into layouts D:..only to hold "content"

Maybe iframes too, it makes the page more simple to look at in my opinion :/

lol
...o.0..I just noticed a typo XD
I meant to say was the green added to the style of the layout XD
Oh well..the layout is still good :D
6  General / Support / Suggestions / Re: Help please T_T on: April 26, 2008, 10:54:53 PM
Are the URLs linking to the images correct?
7  Web Development / Web Design / Re: Feedback - Breathless Light DXD on: April 26, 2008, 07:52:56 PM
I really like it :D.  It's simple yet...not simple (can't think of the word) in a way.  And as you said on the layout, it's "simplicity" and the fact it's not showing the full face of the character, helps draw more attention to the content of the site, rather than the designing.
The only problems i see, is the perfect resolution for this layout, is really big o.0, and I'm looking at this on a 1600x1200 screen....maybe make it smaller a bit??
Also the colors of the light coming out from the bottom of the header sticks out a bit, as it's really green...it does at to the layout a bit, but then again it looks wierd

Hope that helped in anway o.0....i can never find the right words.  Great job Smiley!!!

The only way the images will show up, is if you link the URL of the images to the right place.  Did you upload the images to freewebs?
9  Web Development / Coding / Re: Make Div Layout center on: April 05, 2008, 02:56:21 PM
I dunno about vlad's idea (it probably works...) but the way i do it is in the css body coding, i put
Code:
body{margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;}
This will center it in the center of the page, but it will still hang to the top or bottom of the page
Or you could just do:
body{margin: auto;}
Well it works for me o.0
Or sometimes i put a wrapper around the things you want to be auto, It's just a another div around all the other divs that make up the layout
Code:
#wrapper{margin: auto;}

and then in the actual layout:

Code:
<div id="wrapper">
"Actually Layout content and images, etc here"</div>

Maybe the picture you want to put the texture on is zoomed out, and the texture become smaller on the picture because of this.
Or it could be the texture is already really small, or maybe even icon size O___O
11  Art Boards / Creative mediums / Re: help me for a sec with this font? D: on: March 24, 2008, 09:15:22 PM
i think thats the way the font is supposed to be like o.0, are you sure have the right font on the other computer?

Your graphics are acutually pretty good for a beginner o.0.  When I started I was...let's just say i was very bad :P, and it took a year for me to start getting somewhere  Disappointed XD.
There are a few things i'd like to point out in your graphics.  First of all, in some of them, especially 1st icon, 1st banner, and both layouts, the colors are really....wierd.
The colors seem all around and don't really match together, you have been putting all sorts of yellow, blue, and red in the same layout.  Try going with more similar colors, and make sure your colors are not all over the place.

also another things is that your text is sometimes not readable, as it has the same colors as the background.  Sometimes what i do, is duplicate the text layer, and move it and lower the opacity, so it's like a shadow ^^.  You could also duplicate the layer and blur it, so it has also a little affect added to it...just experiment with layer styles, filters and such.....
Other tips:
  • Cut down the use on the brushes...
    For example in the banner, the splatter brushes seem really out of place o.0, it sticks out A LOT among the clouds and sparkles.  Brushes are not *mandatory* when it comes to making layouts, there just a little extra stuff needed to make it look nice as a background (or sometimes on top), ^^.  A good example of not going brush crazy would probably be 3rd banner, and your avatars Smiley.
  • Don't just focus on the background, focus also on editing the image a bit.
    For example in your second banner, the image seems extremely blurry.  Try sharping (it is a VERY GOOD TOOL to use, especially after resizing your images) it, and adjusting it's brightness/contrasts, curves, levels, etc.  Also another good tool is the smudge tool, to remove any marks from your image (scanning lines, dirt (XD) etc...)

Well here you go, i hoped it helped o.0.  Just continue making graphics and you'll become a master at it ^^ (i can already see improvement in your second post of icons ^^).
btw my favs are: the 3rd and 4th banners and the first icon in your newest post  Kiss
Keep up the good work!
13  Web Development / Coding / Re: Footer? on: February 25, 2008, 01:56:05 AM
hehehe sorry about the late reply....
I swore i saw something about it deprecated somewhere! And yes i did slice an image XD, it's good to know that it's useless to take the trouble to do so :P...as for the page...
I've decided to not use the footer on that layout (sorry for all the trouble ><)BUT there was a older layout,that i used extremely similar (almost identical except for the different images, and widths of the content and link areas) coding and style (yes i did slice the images >.<) and had the same exact problem with the footer, and i'd like to figure it out....  I'll just transfer the coding i used on the other layout, on to this one.  Sadly right now i have to leave for somewhere NOW, so i can't bring it up now..but i'll edit later soon (tomorrow at latest) with images ;) (hope it isn't to much trouble).
btw thanks for the help so far  Smiley
14  Web Development / Coding / Re: Footer? on: February 21, 2008, 05:07:27 PM
Thanks for the link Smiley. That helped...a bit...
I made some changes in the code, adding a wrapper around the header image, and the content, and the newly added "links" section.  I also added the code from the tutorial http://www.themaninblue.com/writing/perspective/2005/08/29/

Now the problem i see is that in
IE: there is this huge gap between the content and the  footer, and there is tiny gap between the footer and the end of the page.
Opera: Gap between the content and footer
Firefox: Gab between content and footer

+plus if I put a lot of text in the links or navigation section, or both, the problem with the footer covering the text comes back >.< (in all browsers)...so once again i don't know what i'm doing wrong, or if i even followed the guide correctly o.0.

Here is the new code:

I've been trying to put a footer image at the bottom of the page using position: absolute, but i can't seem to get it to the bottom  Annoyed.  It usually ends up under the header but on top of the content  Disappointed
Is there something wrong in my coding?
