Databases, though not needed, make it easier to update your site. If you didn't use databases, then each time you wanted to add a layout or an avatar to your site, you would have to go into your file, and physically add the avatar or layout to the page to display.

With databases, all you need to do is enter in some information, and if you have it set up correctly, the PHP in your file will automatically display the new avatar/layout. Databasing also makes it easier to sort and view things, keep track of how many times your layout is viewed, and other things like that. ^^

oo ok so basically once i have it in my database, php automatically puts it up without me having to put it in manually? and also..i moved my domain from freewebs to awardspace.com. for the nameservers i changed them to awardspace but left the freewebs nameserver as the third one. and im having trouble viewing my php files.

my site is www.impressiondesigns.us and that site still shows up in the freewebs so i know its connected there. and it says its set up to awardspace too since im allowed to upload files. but for some reason it says that www.impressiondesigns.us/index.php doesnt exist. and neither do my other php files :/ i uploaded my php files from awardspace..so yeah... :/

If you have it set up correctly, then yes. ^^

It says that index.php doesn't exist because it doesn't. You're currently using .html files, all your links lead to .html files and your index page is a .html.

Oh... yeah, probably. I don't think you can host a domain name on two hosts. I don't know, though, I've never really messed with it before.

Hmmm.... maybe that's why the files aren't showing up. Maybe you have them in the wrong directory? I'm not really sure, I've never used awardspace before and each host is different.
