Ok, I am painfully new at making layouts, but it's something that I've always been interested in and finally got time to learn.

I started with learning how to make a div layout...
I made the layout, coded it... no problems there, but when I tried to upload it to the web, the image(s) won't show up!  I checked the code but everything seems to be in order there...but one never knows. *sigh*  
I am at my wits END.  Any and ALL help would be much appreciated.

Are your images .gif/.jpg/.png?

What's your host?

My host is Bravenet.com and yes all my images were gif. jpeg. and png.

Do you have any idea what could be wrong?

Did you put the images in a seperate directory? If so, did you change the code so that it linked to images in that directory? Or, reversly, did you originally have the images in a seperate directory, and if so, did you remember to remove the directory from the src=""?

Also, it would be helpful if you could provide a URL, or at the very least, the code =)

The images are in a separate directory, and the code is linked to the correct directory....

I don't think it's the HTML's fault. It seems as though your images are not uploaded correctly. Are you sure you uploaded it and did not close it in the middle of uploading the file?

I suggest you find a free image hosting site (photobucket) and upload your stuff there. Direct link the images and see if it works.

Well...it worked!  
But the image quality is really crappy. >.<

I'll keep at it and see what happens. Thanks for all the help!

Any more suggestions?

If you uploaded to photobucket, I suggest something like imageshack.us, they allow larger files and they don't decrease file quality.

If I have anymore problems....well I'll probably be here again!  

I still think it's kind of weird it won't upload right. *pout*

Yes, I had Bravenet hosting for a precious little while, and it was not the best host. I would even go as far as to reccomend GeoCities or Freewebs before Bravenet. But the all-time best free host is probably awardspace.com

Yeah, I agree with Assie-chan. I'm not a fan of bravenet either. Freewebs used to be a very good host but then it changed. Anyway, yeah, currently awardspace.com is the best host.

I am definately gonna check out awardspace then! I don't know what I'd do without all this great advice! ....Well yes I do... Probably flounder around pitifully.
