Offering hosting

** By the time I'm writing this, I'm moving my files to my server, so if one of my sponsors sees this, don't get mad at it! **

I own two shared hosting accounts and one VPS, one of the shared hosting accounts is with dreamhost, which provide a whole load of bandwidth and space (but of course, if you get a lot of requests, they will kick you out~ I won't get into details there). The thing is, I barely use a small part of what they offer with the plan I have, so I'm offering free hosting.

As you can see, can offer you a LOT of space and bandwidth, hosting for your domain, or a subdomain if you don't own a domain.

You will need to contact me or PM me to apply. Please include the site you'd like to host with me, or a site you own so that I can see your designing skills and how you maintain your sites. Do not apply if you don't know how to use FTP. I will, of course, try to help you if you have a problem with your account, but I won't teach you how to do everything, you're supposed to know it already.

You will get:
- 100 MB space at first. If you ever need more, I can modify your space later.
- Bandwidth is shared. You're most likely not to consume much bandwidth, but if you do, I'll contact you and you will need to move your site elsewhere.
- 1 MySQL table with private access only for you.
- 1 private FTP account.
- Installation of Wordpress or phpBB.
- Hosting for a domain you already registered, or a free subdomain URL that will be you.cerestia.com or you.cerestia.net. I do renew my domains every year: I'm not the kind of person that registers a domain and forgets about it letting it die.
- You will be allowed to host multiple sites of yours under your account.

You will be responsible for:
- Keeping backups of your site and databases, if any.
- Follow the Terms of Service of my host: http://www.dreamhost.com/tos.html If you don't, I reserve the right to delete your account. I won't take the risk of losing my account because you uploaded a script that wasn't allowed.
- No phpFanBase scripts. They're highly insecure. No Aardvark topsites either, they produce a high load, which I can solve tweaking the script, but you probably won't. If you really would like a topsites, then contact me and I can tell you how to solve it.
- Linking me on your home page or sitewide (on your navigation or footer).

Yes, I've had problems myself with them in the past, but now everything seems to run smoothly. I can't really blame them for cutting off http connections when I had my 20k+ uniques a day page hosted there, but it's true that I had to fill support tickets now and then.

I put most of my sites on my dreamhost account, and I upload all graphics and such there. I still host with them a site with 3k+ uniques a day (not Celestial Star), and it's running smoothly.

Do you require a certain amount of time for us to open the hosted site? (I.e: have everything up within 2 weeks or I'll cancel your hosting)? Will you provide extra databases if requested?

Also, will you provide support for PHP, mySQL and the like? If not, do you think you can link to some really easy tutorials for either one?

Sorry for all the questions, but I've been wanting to create a graphics site for awhile with databases for layouts and avatars, but I have no idea where to start with mySQL and PHP tutorials :s

I don't mind if it takes a while to be up, if it doesn't take forever xD (something up to two months is fine)

I'm afraid I don't really have the time to teach people how to program such things from scratch. If you do have questions on specific things, I'll be more than happy to help.

Well umm i'm looking for a host that will let me host a anime and manga fansite with downloads from filehosts plus and need good bandwidths and need mysql and php. So am i allowed

i once had a toshiba laptop defaulty model that broke, i can imagine the pain <.< i now have a nice acer laptop model that is going along well with me, hopefuly can last some good years with the support i also bought with more or less nice coolers <_<

I have a question... I made an account in TyL hosting... and it says it does not admit .mp3 files.... but I want to put a music player...

I'm pretty sure there were external flash players for you to put on your website :/ can't remember the url, though... there's most likely to be more than one.

Flash players? You can use some like http://www.myflashfetish.com/ and http://www.loudfusion.com/ as well as http://www.flashwidgetz.com/
