The first one is, the second one is using the crystalization feature in the filters and then poofing it up in the blending section.  Then some editing of a pretty lady from Guild Wars and some more brushwork...but im really proud of it

I guessed as much.  :P

Not that I don't like it (the first one looks lovely) but I think just using brushes is kinda basic. I will admit, I do that when I want something done quickly, but have you got more stuff like the 1st work but not all brushes?  Smiley

I do really like the effect, both pictures etc, but i think it might have been better if the "cuttings" (I've got no idea what word u use in english) would've been better.. they sort of "jump out", and that's a pity... I don't know which programm you use, but if it's PS or PSP, you can use the "feather" or the ?raser tool" to remoive the edge. apart from that, it ?s really beautiful, good job! Smiley

I find using the blur tool lightly on edges can help the cut and pasted images not look to sharp and poppish. ^_^ but use it with your own judegment. Smiley

edit-- so not used to using a forum yet O.o

forgot to add- their all beautiful. but yeah the last one seems a a tad bit poppish on the smaller lady ^_^ but beautiful work!

well i hate to burst your bubble but, i think you can improve all 3 alot more.they have potential, only you're going into overkill.

i'm cool with symmetry, but not to the extent that they are exactly the same(first pic).and the leaves around?too much, too gaudy.how do i put this...it lacks spirit.it's flat and emotionless.it doesn't draw the attention.

as for your signature, the border is also too gaudy, and it doesn't blend well with the whole thing.if you want to create a b&w effect, try not to have too much symmetry cos its very hard to match them both together

3rd picture: too dim.its like you're trying to reach a gothic mood but isn't able to capture the theme.also , somehow the extraction seems to be weird.its all angular and sharp.and both images are faint, so the attention sways to the bg and not the character.in a wallpaper(or any image) the bg should compliment the stock, not the other way round.plus, your bg is complicated yet it seems plain.not simple, plain.with the swirling colours it gives the viewer a kind of expectation for more but theres nothing else

p.s:i know i'm kinda critical here but...when i saw your pics i felt they can become much better and you can only improve when you get criticism right?^^don't get too conceited, i remember there was once i did and looking back, it didnt do me any good to think that my art was so good it can't be improved anymore.oh and don't use lasso if you dont need to. use the pen tool to extract, its much better.i believe melfina has done a tutorial on how to extract

Well it had been a while, and you are correct in some.  However I hate using the pen tool, I find it too complicated and I know I can use the lasso better to get the results I want.

I've made some more stuff, and I would appreciate feedback:

hey. really don't like the quality of your renders. it's like the main object of your graphic.

You should learn what ppl call blending. And also, i think your effects are good enough. But your skill to blend 1 part of image to other part still needs improvement.

Keep on Going, anyway. =P
