I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but i'm gonna go ahead and ask for wat i wanted to ask. Ok. Does anyone know how to put a scroll bar on the left side of the page? If you know any site that has this tutorial that would be helpful or if you know yourself how to do it. Can you help me plz? Here's how my layout picture looks like.

If you use CSS, then add this to your background tag:
Code:
center repeat-y;
That should fix your problems. =)

Where do you show the background for your layout? I was just wondering, because I don't see it in that code anywhere...
But if you change the following two lines of code in your 'body' style sheet:
background-color: #FE9328;
background-repeat: center repeat-y;
In this one:
background: #FE9328 center repeat-y;
It
should
work. However, you might need to define your background image in that tag as well to make the centering and repeating work...

Okay, try taking the background image out of your HTML coding and putting it into the CSS, like this:
background: #FE9328 url(images/bg.png) center repeat-y;
and if that doesn't help, then... I'm not sure what's wrong. x.x

lol right glad you sorted that out
btw, i recommend you change the format of your bg to jpeg instead of png because png is larger, hence take a longer time to load, plus i'm not sure if its possible but i think ppl can just right click>save image as into their computer and then they have the png version of your image, which might include layers and all and they can edit the image slightly and claim that its theirs

In fact, gif is usually better for backgrounds: If an image contains few colors and it's saved with gif, it will be a smaller file than if it was saved with jpeg.

Try up-ing the quality of the image when you save it as JPG or GIF. I'm not sure what program you use for graphics, but I know PSP and PhotoShop both give options to change the quality. If you put it on the maximum quality, it hopefully shouldn't look bad, and it still should be a smaller file than a PNG...

Both of the merges work fine. the merge visible will only merge the layers that aren't invisible, and the flatten will merge them all, even the invisible ones, into a background layer. it's up to you which you want to use. =) If all your layers are visible, then they basically have the same effect.
