Div Layout Coding: Won't save HTML ... Please help!

Please help!
I've been following the div layout tutorial by Melfina, but I cannot save my layout for HTML. I have tried the 'save as' option as well as the 'save for web', but they do not show up.

If it helps, I have Adobe Photoshop elements 2.0 . (very old XD)
All I get when I open the document on Notebook is a series of little signs, numbers and letters that make no sense.

You should select from the dropdown: Images and HTML... did you slice it?

nope he/she didnt sliced it..

Slice it first and save for web. Don't forget to select Images and HTML.
