I need help with MySQL!

Well, I'm a TOTAL beginner, so be easy one me please.

I want to create a MySQL database, but I have no idea how to do this! :shock:  I've downloaded sth called 'mysql-noinstall-5.1.11-beta-win32' and I don't really know what should I do... :cry:

Is there anyone who can help me?

You say you've downloaded MySQL? I guess (do correct me if I'm wrong) that you've downloaded the latest beta version to your computer. I just want to let you know that unless you have your computer set up to be a server (and considering you're on Window and not Linux, I'm doubting that) you won't be able to access anything you create on this database from the web. Well, there's a way to do it, but it leaves your computer vulnerable to hackers and it also requires alot of power as you have to leave it running ^^;;

Apache, explained in the geekiest way possible is:

In it's less geeky explaination, it's an operating system for a server (where you store files to be viewed online). And yes, I do believe it supports PHP and MySQL.

If you have a web host that supports PHP and MySQL it would be a hundred times easier to use that to test out your stuff. It's so complicated to get Apache, PHP, AND MySQL working on a computer. And if you do have a web host, then check and see if it has PHPMyAdmin. That's by far the easiest way to work with MySQL.

www.awardspace.com is very good PHP/MySQL hosting. Also comes with Perl. 200 megs of space, 5 gigs bandwidth. Very reasonable. And free. =)
