♫♠Niiku's Sigg Tutorial♠♫
« on: November 15, 2007, 08:02:09 AM »

Hi all ! Just wish to share some of my ways of making sigs with you all !
Hope you don't mind , but if you think my tut sucks more than a cow butt , you can get lost of here rather than saying about this .

The outcome of this tutorial :

Okay then ! Let's get on the steps !

1.)Open Photoshop and press Ctrl+n for a new document .
I will be using 380x150 for my tag .
Use the eyedropper tool and pick a dark color from the render that you're using .
Meh , my (favorite ?)render , not that perfectly rendered , but still usable XD
Obviously its resized already , you can resize it later , or just resize it now to save your trouble .

NOTE: There's no stroke actually , Just that I've made a stroke to make it clearer .

2.)I'll take the Dark Blue from my render's ribbon .Then , fill the background with that color .

3.)Duplicate the layer of your render for at least 7 times .
Hide all of them with the eye thing next to the layer option except the bottom one .

4.)Take the smudge brush and set the Strength to 70% and start smudging the first layer render .
Set it to Screen Mode and opacity 80%.

5.)Unhide the next layer . Use the Filter>Blur>Motion Blur at the Angle of 0 and Distance 100 .
Duplicate the layer and move it slighter to the left and the other one move to the right .
Then , merge them together . Set it to Hard Light and Opacity 90% .

6.)Unhide the next layer again . Smudge the render without the Finger Painting ticked .
Set it to Overlay and Opacity 70% .

7.)Unhide the next layer again .Filter>Distort>Twirl it at the amount of 266 .
Set it to Color Dodge and Opacity 60% .

8.)Unhide the next layer . Use the Filter>Distort>Wave and set the Wave Type to Triangle.

Set it to Linear Burn and Opacity 40% . Nudge it to the right a little .

9.) Next layer time . Filter>Distort>Wave again but this time , set the Wave Type to Square .
Set it to Hard Light and Opacity 50% .

10.)Go to the Next Layer XD Splatter SOME Smudge Brush at the BOTTOM ONLY .
Use a 100px Soft Brush and add some lightnings on the top .
Set it
Add a Filter>Render>Lens Flare at the Lightning Spot .

11.)Press Ctrl+Shift+N to start a new layer .
Use the Line Tool with the color #ffffff and Weight 25 .
Draw it through the render and set it to Soft Light , Opacity 80% .
Draw about 3 lines around the render .
Bring the Previous Render layer ( The one with lightning at top and smudge at bottom ) above the lines .

12.) Rasterize those lines layers and Merge them together .
Unhide the last layer and Bring it down under the layer with Lightning on top and smudge at bottom together with the lines.
Add a clipping mask (Ctrl+alt+G) to the lines . Bring it out to somewhere visible rather than behind the main render.
Set the clipping masked layer to Linear Burn and Opacity 30% .

13.)Now , add in some C4D between the main render and the clipped layer .
Set the C4D layer to Color Dodge and Opacity 40% or something around that , as long as it fits in .

14.)Now , Go to Image>Apply Image .
Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen it once and set it to Soft Light , Opacity 50% .

15.)Draw a line through the render with the color #ffffff and Weight 25 .
Set it to Overlay and Opacity 45% .

16.)Use the pen tool and add an outer glow onto it .
Make sure the line and the color goes well with the flow of your tag .
Set it to Multiply Mode and Opacity 95%

17.)Make a new layer , then Go to Image>Apply Image again , and set it to Linear Burn , Opacity 40% .

18.)Now , add some Gradient Maps , Photo Filter , Hue and Saturation and Color Balance at the Layer>New Adjustment Layer.
Remember to set these layers' Opacity lower like around 20-50% and Layer Type to Overlay or Soft Light .
I'm not gonna go a lot in these .

19.)Create a new layer and Image>Apply Image again .
Set it to Soft Light , Opacity 18% and Apply Clipping Mask to the previous layer ( Before the Hues , Saturations and etc. )
Well , not much difference , huh ? Just wait and see !

20.)next , hide the Hues , Saturations and etc . , then create a new layer .
Go to Image>Apply Image again . Then unhide back the Hues , Saturations and etc.
Bring the layer above the Hues , Saturations and etc .
Set it to Darken Mode , Opacity 80% .

21.)Okay ! Bored of those already ?
Time to add in your text !
REMINDERS:
+Using some plain colors like White or black would be enough.
+Avoid using those more playful fonts would help a lot !
+Don't add any blending options to the text , especially Bevel and Emboss . Just Outer Glow would be more than enough .
+Make sure you type the exact text you want , because later we're gonna rasterize it and it'll be uneditable !

22.)Rasterize the text layer , then add a 1.0 Radius Gaussian Blur ( Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur ) .
After that , Sharpen it for about 3-5 times again . ( Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen )

23.) Lastly , add in your border ! Tada ! You're done with this !

Here you go ! Something RANDOM by me !

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial !
Please do not copy and paste this tutorial anywhere else .
Feel free to post your outcomes too ?
And at least , appreciate my time for making this tut too Sad
Thanks a lot and have a nice time testing it! =D

Possible Outcomes , although I know the submission of the outcomes won't be a few ...

Made by me aka Nihorico
at another forum !( like stated at copyright watermark inserted at my current sig )
