Contest 1 - May 2007 - Wallpapers

After a long wait, the contests have finally returned to Alternate Netherworld. However we're back with a few twists that you'll hopefully like! We now have a changing medium for the contests, you'll not get bored easily with that! Each contest will be held monthly, and will end on the last day of the month, with the new contest starting on the 1st day of the month. The winner of the previous months contest picks the theme for the following contest.

Best of all, each contest now has a prize or multiple prizes!

So to kick things off, here is this months contest!

General Info

Theme: "Catharsis/Purification", chosen by Natsumi.
Medium: Wallpaper.
Size: 800*600, 1024*768 or 1280*1024. Pick 1 of these sizes.
Submissions Deadline: 28th May, 1PM GMT;  Max 1 entry per person.

Prizes: 2 months free advertisement on Celestial Star and a custom layout designed by Blackstone and coded by Vangs.

Voting will begin from 28th May, 1PM GMT, and will last until May 31st, 9PM GMT. Winners will posted then, and prizes distributed. Entrants cannot vote for their own entry.

Is there ever going to be a new contest here? Or is it just when the Mods have time to manage it? I always have fun participating in contests, even if I don't win. Also, are people allowed to make graphics challanges? Like one person says, "I want to have a wallpaper challenge!" And then everyone participates. Or is this against the rules?

Well, we wanted to have more contests, but it seemed like no one wanted to participate (actually, not seemed. No one joined. ;-;). If you can get enough people to join, then we'd love to open another one. But it really wouldn't be a content if only one or two people joined. Vangs started this one a while ago, and after a month, no one had joined.

As for the challenges... that might be an interesting idea. Again, you'd need to get enough participants. Maybe go post the idea on the suggestions board? Melfina might make a board out of it. That would be cool. It would kind of get lost on the boards otherwise, because there are none like it. At least I don't think so... O.o Oh, it'd be best if you gave more of a definition on what you mean by challenges. Do you mean a something like a graphics battle? Where two people have certain specifications and then when they have finished their graphics, they are voted on by the general population? That is what I thought you meant at first, but not I'm not so sure.... so just make sure to describe your idea fully. ^^

Okay. I will go to the Suggestion board and post all of the details there. I remember that this is what we did on the Komet Tails Design Board. Unfortunately, it has closed otherwise I would show you exactly what I meant. Well, here I go!
